Your Journey to Great Skin with DMK Body Therapy
As featured in Beautify Magazine.
When the young founder of DMK, Danné Montague-King, sought a solution for his severe acne, he had little idea that it would result in a global skin care empire across 30 countries, with thousands of clinics and hundreds of thousands of customers.
With extensive research, Danné became one of the first biochemists to recognise the power of enzymes to hydrate and tighten the skin. The revolutionary DMK concept of REMOVE, REBUILD, PROTECT and MAINTAIN aims to match an individual’s biochemistry with the appropriate skin therapy. Botanical based cosmeceutical products instigate long-term improvements in skin, whilst professional treatments deliver superior aesthetic results.
“The inventors of skin revision are true pioneers in a field that will one day require only an injection or a capsule to offset acne or the disease of ageing,” Danné has often said, “It has been my lifelong quest to create techniques and products that help to maintain a youthful appearance.”
DMK Skin Revision provides expert advice and a unique experience that delivers phenomenal results. Skin Revision is not just for the face, the body can also benefit from this concept. From cellulite to
pigmentation, back acne, sun damage, loose sagging skin, to scarring and stretchmarks, DMK’s Body Therapy can provide a solution to many concerns of the body.
Feel good treatments are no longer enough; in this day and age people are looking for solutions to their skin and body problems. DMK Body Therapy systems provide natural and no gimmick treatments that achieve remarkable results. A DMK trained skin professional will identify your needs, and tailor the treatment with effective formulas to treat the appearance of the condition.
The two most common concerns of the body are cellulite and stretch marks, we take a look at the popular DMK body treatments that work towards improving the appearance of these stubborn areas.
CELLULITE
Cellulite is a term used to express a visible physical change, resulting in an uneven skin texture. Cellulite is a natural process in females induced by the hormone estrogen. Males having relatively small amounts of estrogen have very little cellulite. Estrogen’s major function is to breakdown the collagen in the cervix during childbirth facilitating the baby’s passage through the birth canal. The breakdown of collagen is a basic biological function of estrogen. When collagen is relaxed or weakened, the superficial fascia weakens and gives way, and the fat bulges upward creating a wavy surface. Thus, we can conclude that the underlying cause of cellulite is weakened connective tissue. The epidermis is the outermost physical layer of skin that directly interfaces with the outside world. Its primary purpose is to cover and protect us from environmental contaminants with a network of keratinocytes and Langerhans cells, the skin's immune system.
Accumulated adipocytes compress both the supporting fibres in the connective tissue and the capillaries running through this tissue, thus decreasing blood circulation. To effectively reduce the appearance of cellulite, it’s essential to strengthen the skin and improve oxygen supply to the affected areas, which helps promote better lymphatic drainage.
The Solution? Body Sculpting
Body Sculpting helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite by visibly smoothing and firming loose body skin, in some instances with measurable inch loss. It’s a breakthrough treatment designed to help re-shape the appearance of the body in stubborn areas. It is formulated to reduce the appearance of cellulite, as well as fir m, tighten and tone the skin through the stimulation of thermogenesis. This is the production of heat through metabolic process and its key function is to stimulate lymphatic circulation, thereby increasing the amount of oxygen delivered to the skin helping to flush out toxins. Body Sculpting is best performed as a program, alternated with the Body Enzyme to strengthen the skin and improve its appearance. Treatments are carried out weekly over 6, 8 or 12 weeks and can be conducted on areas of concern like thighs, tummy, buttock and/or upper arms.
Key ingredients
• Cinnamon cassia leaf oil – firms the skin’s appearance, minimising the appearance of cellulite.
• Safflower oil – an antioxidant, vitamin A, rich in EFA’s, hydrating and nourishing.
• Squalene – one of the NMFs (Natural Moisturising Factors) found in the skin which acts as a supreme strengthener.
STRETCH MARKS
It is believed that 90% of women will have some form of stretch marks during pregnancy. Rapid weight gain and loss are also common causes of cellulite in men and women.
Women who are overweight have more estrogen since it is produced in the fatty tissue. Estrogen breaks down collagen, hence why overweight people are more prone to stretch marks and cellulite, and also why young girls during puberty sometimes get stretch marks on breasts, hips etc.
The Solution? Stretch Mark Revision
This treatment utilises specific resurfacing formulations followed by DMK’s famous Enzyme Therapy to stimulate the damaged skin in order to promote the revitalisation of the area and improve the appearance of it. This Therapy provides a supreme form of nutrients for the skin to encourage it to perform at its best. Enzymes are responsible for the oxidation process within the body, which can cause them not to function properly and can cause negative effects, such as the signs of ageing. Body Enzyme works to smooth and refine, tighten and firm areas of the body to improve the appearance of stretch marks, plus many other concerns. Depending on the severity of stretch marks, typically a course of 6 treatments would be recommended.
